Dr Odgerel Tumur

Cardiologist MBBS PhD FRACP

Dr Odgerel Tumur is a cardiologist who is passionate about providing comprehensive and holistic care to her patients, especially those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. In addition to English, Odgerel is fluent in Mongolian, Chinese (Mandarin) and Russian.

After attaining her primary medical degree (MBBS) in 2001 at Peking University in Beijing China, Odgerel completed her training in Cardiovascular Medicine in China. Having had a particular interest in women’s cardiovascular health, in 2006 she completed a research PhD at Peking University on coronary artery disease in post-menopausal women. In 2008, Odgerel migrated to Australia, working initially as a Research Fellow in Cardiology at Western Health, focusing on CT coronary angiography. After completing General Physician training at Western Health she undertook Advanced training in Cardiology at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Eastern Health, followed by a Cardiac Imaging Fellowship at St. Vincent’s Hospital, also gaining experience in complex Heart Failure management and Lipidology.

Odgerel’s career objective is to pursue excellence in Cardiovascular Medicine with expertise in chronic disease management aspects coupled with cardiovascular imaging. Her areas of special interest include prevention of cardiovascular conditions, lipidology, heart failure, cardiac disease in women, and cardiac issues in cancer therapy.

She currently holds appointments in Cardiology at Peter McCallum Cancer Centre and St. Vincent’s Hospital.
